Team Ward 9 is Hiring! F/T Constituent Liaison
The Ward 9 office is looking to add a full-time Constituent Liaison to our team.
This is an opportunity for a team player who is keen to get involved in city building and who excels in customer service. This role works directly with the Ward 9 Councillor and team to:
- Correspond regularly with constituents about ongoing projects and issues.
- Liaise with Community Associations, Business Improvement Areas, business owners, and advocacy groups to collect information and help solve issues.
- Work with City of Calgary Administration to identify problems and solutions.
About You
As the ideal candidate, you have a passion for community and city-building. You are skilled at writing and public speaking and find that meticulous organization and attention to detail come naturally to you. You are comfortable working alone and as part of a team, and consider yourself a people-person who can deal with others in a consistently positive, productive, and respectful fashion. You are a long-term problem-solver, confident in your relationship management skills, and can collaborate and find consensus with various interested parties. Ideally you have some knowledge of city building, municipal politics, urban design, and the development process through the City of Calgary.
Roles + Responsibilities
- Respond to citizen calls, emails, webmail, and letters.
- Research and follow up to understand issues and complaints.
- Triage issues with Team Ward 9, City Administration and/or Civic Partners.
- Report back to the team on issues proactively.
- Use Dynamics 365 to track constituent issues and resolutions.
- Attend events, community group meetings, and administrative meetings as a Ward 9 representative.
- Update community associations with new work from the ward.
- Potential to work on policy or other projects as interest and need arise.
About Us
Working in the Ward 9 office is a demanding but rewarding position. Our small team is close knit and flexible. While each member of the team has unique roles and responsibilities we often jump into other roles as necessary. There are many opportunities to explore projects related to your interests along with career development opportunities.
37.5 hours per week + community meetings & events as required. Some evenings and weekends will be required.
Starting salary between $70,000 – $75,000, plus vacation and benefits.
