What is a vulnerable sector verification?

Individuals applying for a police information check who may be working with vulnerable members of society are required to undergo a vulnerable sector verification. Vulnerable persons are those who are in a position of dependence on others (such as children or people with disabilities) or who are at a higher than normal risk of being harmed by an authority figure.

A vulnerable sector verification determines if individuals working with the vulnerable sector have a sexual offence conviction for which they’ve received a pardon.

Did you receive a request for follow-up information?

If your information result in a possible 'hit' to a vulnerable sector verification record search, you will receive an attend letter for follow-up information on your vulnerable sector verification.

You need to click here to set an appointment with the Calgary Police Service to have your fingerprints taken for submission to the National Repository. Your fingerprints will be verified against the pardoned sex offence database.
