Bearspaw water main break
We've responded to a water main break on 16 Avenue N.W., east of Sarcee Trail, at approximately 8 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 30.
The break is confirmed to be from the Bearspaw South Feeder Main.
We've opened the Emergency Operations Centre and activated the Municipal Emergency Plan.
What you need to know
- There is a boil water advisory for residents and businesses in parts of Montgomery and Parkdale.
- Reduce your indoor water use immediately
- There are traffic impacts to 16 Avenue NW. See traffic closures.

Due to the water main break, Alberta Health Services has issued a Boil Water Advisory for residents and businesses in parts of Montgomery and Parkdale. See map below for advisory locations.

Water restrictions
Due to the location of the break, we are asking Calgarians who can, please consider reducing your indoor water use:
- Limit showers to 3 minutes
- Run dishwashers and laundry only when full
- Flush only when necessary
Arenas, Indoor pools and recreation centres:
- Outdoor ice rinks cannot be flooded or constructed
- Organizations, such as recreation centres, will be asked to implement their water restriction plans
