Join us in celebrating Green Sports Day on Oct. 6, 2025. This day shows the power of sport, sustainability and community by helping to reduce waste and allow more people to access sport opportunities.

How to get involved

Gather your gently used gear and donate it to our partner, the Calgary Flames Sports Bank. Donated equipment will be cleaned, sorted and shared with families and youth in need, so more kids get the chance to play sports.

How to request equipment

If you or your family need sports gear, Calgary Flames Sports Bank provides it at no cost for youth 18 and under.

How we've already contributed

  • Community cleanups

    The Calgary Flames Sports Bank attended 17 Community Cleanup events to collect sport equipment donations and promote program funding opportunities through Kidsport.

  • All Sports One Day

    On June 17, 2025, Sport Calgary provided two equipment donation locations during the All Sports One Day event.

  • Giving back to the community

    To date, the Calgary Flames Sports Bank have received 3000 pieces of equipment, with 65 per cent of the equipment already donated back into the community.

  • Calgary Housing Company Family BBQs

    The Calgary Flames Sports bank has attended four Calgary Housing Company (CHC) Family BBQ events, where CHC residents can select some sports equipment to take home and receive information on accessing program funding from Kidsport.
