City of Calgary playfields

Playfield classes

Playfields are broken down into two classes of fields.

D-class fields

D-class fields/diamonds are located near Community Associations or open spaces (not on school property). They are unstaffed with no amenities.  Maintained by Calgary Parks, mowing is sporadic. Surface may not be level.

Identifying a bookable field

Field tag numbers are found at the site either on the goal posts or ball diamond back stop. If the first number is ‘1’ the field is a D-class facility (example: S1TUS02).

You can browse D field locations on the Parks map.

E-class fields

E-class fields/diamonds are located exclusively on school properties. They are unstaffed with no amenities. Maintained by the school boards, mowing or other maintenance is limited. Surface may not be level.

Identifying a bookable field

Field tag numbers are found at the site either on the goal posts or ball diamond back stop. If the first number is a ‘5’ or ‘6’ it is an E-class facility (example: B5MON03).

You can browse E field locations on the Parks map.
