Volunteer Planting Program

The Volunteer Planting Program is an opportunity to contribute and connect with your community.

Our volunteer planting events bring community members together, acting as environmental stewards by planting trees to help increase our urban canopy. Planting events also offer great team building for companies and organizations. Previous planting groups have expressed a sense of pride and satisfaction from their hard work and often come back to plant in future years.

Groups will work together alongside City of Calgary Parks and Open Spaces team members to plant trees and will learn proper planting techniques and tree care.

Planting events are seasonal from May to October and typically take around 3-4 hours.

Groups and individuals who would like to arrange or join a planting (or that just want to learn more), can email us at parksvolunteer@calgary.ca.
