Project overview
We're building a new athletic complex so more people can play sports, stay active and connect with their community year-round. The complex includes outdoor sports fields, amenities and a future indoor fieldhouse – two projects that will open at different times:
- Rocky Ridge Athletic Park: Open now, the park includes two outdoor, multi-use artificial turf sports fields and supporting amenities like washrooms, parking and lighting.
- Rocky Ridge Fieldhouse: An indoor recreation facility with a FIFA-standard field and amenities that support sports and community activities.
Together, these facilities will support recreation, training and competition throughout the year.

The Rocky Ridge Athletic park is now substantially complete. As of September 24, 2026, the fields are available for limited booking. Learn more about booking this field.
We have received funding to complete the Rocky Ridge Fieldhouse design. The design work is underway, and will continue through 2028.

Budget and funding
The Rocky Ridge Athletic Park budget is $26 million.
It is partially funded by the Revised Capital Investment Strategy.
The Rocky Ridge Fieldhouse is one of the Wave 1 GamePLAN priorities to improve access to recreation opportunities for Calgary's growing communities. $7.5 million has been approved to complete the design. Council will consider funding for the fieldhouse construction through future budget discussions, including the 2027-2030 budget cycle.
