Special events such as parades and marathon runs require traffic control of the roads they need closed for their events.

Inglewood Night Market: May - September
On Friday May 10, June 7, July 12, August 9, September 6 and September 13
- 10 Avenue and 10 Street S.E. will be closed from 9 Avenue to 11 Street S.E.
- 11 Street S.E. will be closed from 10 Avenue to 11 Avenue S.E.

On Friday June 21, July 19 and August 30 between 5 - 10 p.m.
34 Avenue between 18 and 19 Street S.W. will be closed.

East Village Street Fair: July 1
To accommodate the East Village Street Fair, there will be multiple road closures from 6:30 a.m. - 11 p.m. in the East Village:
8 Ave between 4 & 6 St SE
5 & 6 St between 7 & 9 Ave SE

Canada Day: July 1
East Village – July 1 from 6:30 a.m. - 11 p.m.
- 8th Avenue S.E. from 4 Street S.E. to 6 Street S.E.
- 6th Street S.E. from 9 Avenue S.E. to 8 Avenue S.E.
- 5th Street S.E. from 9 Avenue S.E. to 7 Avenue S.E.
- There will be parking restrictions on 7 Avenue S.E. and 6 Street S.E during this time.
Chinatown – July 1 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
- 2 Avenue S.W. east of 2 Street S.W. will be closed to traffic, and there will be no on-street parking in the closed section of 2 Avenue S.W.
Stephen Avenue – from July 1, 6 a.m. to July 2, 2 a.m.
- 8 Avenue S.E. will be closed between Macleod Trail S.E. and 1 Street S.E.
Fireworks – July 1 at 11 p.m.
Canada Day will end with fireworks, launched from Stampede Park.
- The Stampede grounds will be closed to the public due to the set-up of the 2024 Stampede.
- Vehicle access into West Ramsay (Scotsman’s Hill) and Crescent Road will be restricted.

Calgary Stampede Parade: July 5
On Friday July 5, the following roads will be closed for the Calgary Stampede Parade
Starting at 6 a.m.:
- 9 Avenue S.E. between 8 and 3 Street S.E.
- 6 Street S.E. between 7 and 9 Avenue S.E.
- 5 Street S.E. between 7 and 9 Avenue S.E.
- 6 Avenue S.E. between 3 and 5 Street S.E.
- 7 Avenue S.E. between 4 and 6 Street S.E.
- 8 Avenue S.E. between 4 and 6 Street S.E.
Starting at 7:30 a.m.
- 4 Street S.E. between 6 and 9 Avenue S.E.
- 3 Street S.E. between 4 and 9 Avenue S.E.
- Westbound 6 Avenue from 3 to 11 Street S.W.
- 10 Street S.W. between 6 and 9 Avenue S.W.
- Eastbound 9 Avenue from 11 to 3 Street S.W.
The morning connector from Bow Trail to westbound 5 Avenue S.W. will only be open from 6 to 7 a.m.
All roads will be reopen around 2 p.m.

Mustard Seed Stampede Breakfast: July 5
From 7 a.m. – 5 a.m., Centre St. between 10 & 11 Ave will be closed for the Mustard Seed’s Round-Up Stampede Event.
Calgary Stampede: July 5-14
There will be multiple roadway closures around Stampede Park. More information will be available closer to the event date.
Ramsay – Sunday, June 30 - Monday, July 15
From June 30 - July 15, the following intersections are closed access into west Ramsay:
- Maggie Street and MacDonald Avenue S.E.
- 11 Avenue and 8 Street S.E.
- 17 Avenue and 8 Street S.E.
- Margaret Avenue and Spiller Road S.E.
- Constance Avenue and Spiller Road S.E.
- 6 Street and Spiller Road S.E.
Residents who live west of the closed intersections will have vehicle access to their homes at two access points:
- Bellevue Avenue and MacDonald Avenue S.E.
- Burns Avenue and Spiller Road S.E

4th Street Night Market: July - September
On Saturday July 20, August 17 and September 7 between 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Parts of Elbow Drive and 26 Avenue S.W. will be closed.
