Pedicab / rickshaw permit

Companies operating cycle rickshaws (also known as pedicab or bike taxis) require a pedicab/rickshaw permit to operate within The City of Calgary. Additionally, while operating:

  • There must be a slow moving vehicles sign on the pedicab/rickshaw.
  • The driver of the pedicab/rickshaw must wear a safety vest.

Information to apply

To apply for this permit, the applicant must provide:

  • Proof of insurance in the amount of $2 million, naming The City of Calgary as additionally insured.
