How to recycle paper takeout food boxes - plastic lining

Put into your blue cart or take to a community recycling depot
Put empty and clean paper takeout boxes with a plastic lining:
- In your blue cart for recycling
- Take to a community recycling depot
If the container has a glossy shine to it, it probably has a plastic lining.
Special instructions
- Put leftover food in your green cart for composting.
- Rinse out any food residue or wipe with a used napkin before recycling the takeout box.

Why can't this be composted?
Takeout food boxes have a plastic lining to prevent the container from becoming soggy. To ensure we are creating the highest quality compost possible, leave this item out of your green cart.
