Booking food truck stalls at playfields and parks

Food truck reservations

Food truck operators are allowed to pre-book marked parking stalls in select parks and playfields.

Booking

Food truck bookings are available year-round..
Each food truck stall reservation is valid from 9 am until 9 pm.
Food truck stall locations and dimensions are provided below. Food truck operators must review the stall they wish to book and preferably complete a site visit in advance to ensure that a particular stall will be appropriate for their food truck. There are no refunds after a stall has been reserved.
Using a Live and Play account, operators can book stalls for the current calendar year up to 170 days in advance. If you do not already have a corporate Live and Play account, contact parksbookings@calgary.ca to request that an account be setup.
Food truck operators are responsible for ensuring all information provided in the booking is correct. The City of Calgary is not liable for incorrect information provided for inclusion on a food truck stall reservation.
A reservation notice, this does not imply that it is exclusive. Food truck operators should be aware that some locations have more than one food truck stall meaning other operators may have a permission to operate in the same park as them and at the same time. Depending on the site, other food services could be on site.

Please note: The process to book a stall in a Playfield, or Park is different than the process to book an Athletic Park.

Special events and tournaments

Food truck operators participating in an event or tournament will need to contact the event organizer to confirm if a food truck stall has been reserved for them. If it has not, the stall must be reserved by the food truck operator themselves.

Restrictions

All operators are obligated to abide by all bylaws and guidelines.
Operators are responsible to obtain all required licensing and permits, including but not limited to those from Alberta Health Services, business licensing, Worker’s Compensation Board (WCB) coverage.
Only food truck operators with one of the following business license types for the current year may book: FULL SERVICE FOOD VEHICLE, FOOD SERVICE – PREMISES and/or NO PREMISES.
Trailers, push carts and non-motorized food vendors with a MOBILE VENDOR LICENSE do not qualify to operate in these stalls.
Fees are based on a per day reservation.
Bookings are final sale and non-refundable.
There will be a labeled parking stall in each of the sites. Food truck operators must park in the specific area that they booked and have received a reservation notice for.

2023 Fees

$34.80 per weekday (includes tax)
$64.79 per day on weekends (includes tax)

2024 Fees

(effective Jan 01, 2024)

$36.00 per weekday (includes tax)
$67.19 per day on weekends (includes tax)

Confirmation and payment

Payment is due immediately at the time of reservation, whether operators book one day/location or multiple dates/locations.
A confirmation email, with a sales receipt will be sent out shortly after payment.
Within 24 hours, operators will receive a Food Truck Stall Reservation Notice. A digital or paper copy of the reservation notice must be produced if asked by City of Calgary staff.

Cancellations

Absolutely no refunds will be issued after a reservation is made. Exceptions will NOT be granted for weather, less traffic than expected or if stall dimensions do not suit a truck (as a result, please review site dimensions carefully prior to reserving).
