The city remains under Stage 4 water restrictions and efforts conserving water must continue. We are focused on ensuring plans are in place for Monday’s commute.
Today's water use exceeded sustainable levels, which is straining our system. Calgarians are reminded about the need to conserve water as routines resume on Monday. Keeping consumption low during repairs is critical to maintain storage for drinking water and essential services like emergency response and firefighting.
Crews continue making steady progress. The affected piece of the pipe has been excavated, cut and removed. A single eastbound lane on 16 Ave. N.W., east of Sarcee Tr. N.W. has been reopened. Calgarians may see some hydrant-flushing in the area of 52 St. and Memorial Dr. S.E.
The City urges everyone to use less water now as high demand for the 2nd day in a row threatens emergency readiness as repairs continue. Bowness will see temporary water shutoffs for 30 homes and one business starting Wednesday for two days to allow inspections.
