Our drop-in classes welcome every level of fitness for all age ranges. These single-session fitness classes are instructor-led to provide excellent instruction and encouragement to reach your fitness goals.

Group fitness class guidelines

Guidelines

In accordance with Alberta Health and Calgary Recreation requirements, for your safety and enjoyment:

  • Reserve your spot. Reservations are required for all drop-in group fitness classes and can be made up to seven days in advance online at calgary.ca/liveandplay. Please ensure you check-in at the front counter when you arrive. If you cannot attend, please cancel your online reservation to allow others to participate.
  • If you are new to class arrive a few minutes early to meet your instructor and get assistance with equipment set up.
  • Arrive early to set up. This allows you to set-up equipment, warm-up properly to avoid injury and limits disruption to the class. 
  • Be on time. Latecomers may be refused entry.
  • Wear appropriate athletic wear. No jeans.
  • Wear clean, closed-toe indoor athletic shoes.  No flip flops, sandals, slides or croc style shoes.
  • No oils or scents. The City of Calgary supports a scent-free environment.  
  • Stay hydrated. Use a non-glass water bottle. 
  • Bring your own mat for Mind-Body Flow, Pilates, Yoga and Stretch & Restore.
  • Please silence or turn off your phones while participating in a class.  
  • No cell phones, photos or videos.
  • Socialize before or after class, not during.
  • Inform your instructor of injuries or medical conditions.  
  • Be courteous. Step around others’ mats and avoid your neighbor’s personal equipment. 
  • Stay until the end to limit disruptions to the other patrons.
  • Be kind and respectful to each other and staff. This includes sharing space and using appropriate language.
  • Wipe off your equipment after each use. 
  • Participants must be 13 years and older to participate in group fitness classes and actively participating.
  • Children 12 years of age and younger are not permitted in the class area.
