Park features - West Confederation Park

New this season: An outdoor rink

  • An outdoor rink will be located in the northeast corner of West Confederation Park, between the tennis courts and the baseball field.
  • The opening of the rink will be weather dependent since colder nights and days are required to flood and build the rink ice. Most years, City of Calgary outdoor rinks are open near the last week of December.
  • Skating hours will be from 9 am until 10 pm daily during the winter.
  • The rink will be accompanied by picnic tables, benches, two fire pits and two geo-domes.
  • Seasonal lighting will be installed on the fence and will remain lit until 10 pm. 
  • Use of the rink will be monitored this season. Once the pilot wraps up, The City will assess if the rink returns in fall 2024.

Spray park

The West Confederation Park has spray park. Parking is located at 2020 Chicoutimi Dr. N.W. 

City spray parks, wading pools and outdoor pools are typically open from mid-June until fall (weather dependent).

West Confederation Park has tennis courts and baseball diamonds.

Some City athletic parks are available to book for football, baseball, softball, soccer, field hockey, field lacrosse, track, ultimate Frisbee, sports tournaments and special events.
