How to dispose
There are three ways to dispose of countertops depending on whether you have small or large quantities.
Small quantities of countertops
-
Put into your black cart
Put broken or used pieces of kitchen countertops and bathroom countertops into your black cart as garbage.
Pieces must be less than:
- 15 cm (six inches) in diameter
- 1.25 m (four feet) in length
- Make sure the lid of the cart can close
Large quantities and oversized countertops
-
Take to a special drop-off location
Some private companies may accept reusable building materials such as countertops - check options like Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
-
Take to a City Eco Centre
Take oversized pieces of countertops and large amounts of used and broken countertops to a City Eco Centre for disposal – charges will apply.
