Why can't this be recycled?
“Multi-material” also known as mixed material, is packaging made up more than one type of material. These wrappers, pouches and packaging use many different layers of plastics, paper and foil to keep your food fresh, but that also means these layers can’t be separated easily. Because of this, manufacturers are not currently able to recycle these mixed-material packages into new products.
