Every day, City employees work across Calgary to keep our city safe, clean, and running smoothly. Your thanks helps us highlight the real impact employees have in our communities.
If a City employee helped you, showed kindness, or solved a problem, we want to hear about it. Your message helps us recognize their work and encourages a culture of service and care.
Use the 311 portal to share:
- A compliment or thank‑you message
- The employee’s name, if you know it
- Where and when the interaction happened
- What they did that stood out to you
We will pass your message to the employee and their supervisor.

Here are a few examples of recent compliments we have received.
I wanted to thank the recycling truck driver (I believe he's the same one for garbage). Every Thursday/Friday my 3 year old and 5 year old wait by the window to see when he arrives and they go outside to wave and watch his work. Every single time he engages them with a wave and a little honk of the horn and it absolutely makes their entire morning! They waited 30 minutes by the window today because they did not want to miss him and he did not dissapoint. Please, please, pass this along to the driver - he needs to know how much this small gesture means and we're grateful for him indulging them every single week.
Calgary Flames member wanted to come in and play but needed a private room, there was a distinct lack of rooms available, but Colin accommodated the special guests and had the best attitude about the whole thing. He was an absolute pleasure to deal with. He is a great asset to the city for sure.
Thank you!!! I live on 18th Ave, just south of the Shell gas station on 17 Ave SW. In the 10 years I've lived in the neighborhood. It's never been as quiet. I can't thank you enough for taking our complaints seriously, finally. To be able to have open windows and enjoy the sounds of a quiet neighborhood has truly been impactful and increased the enjoyment of my own neighborhood. I can't thank you enough. I hope things don't go back to the what they were come September, but to have a quiet August has been a real treat.
