Ward 2 Improvement Projects, 2024

As the weather improves, The City has ramped up its improvement programs for Ward 2. In the coming months, crews from Calgary Mobility Services will be visiting your neighbourhood to make sure things are running smoothly and to help make our communities better and safer for everyone. Projects include improving crosswalk visibility, installing traffic lights, wheelchair ramp improvements, and much more.

We’ve put together a handy list so you can know what to expect for 2024, and what City crews will be working on:

This year, you will see new traffic signals at:

🚥144 Ave @ Symons Valley Rd & Nolan Hill Blvd
🚥Shaganappi Tr @ Kincora Gate & Sage Valley Blvd
🚥Evanston Dr & Symons Valley Pkwy

Rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs) at our walkways are important for safety on our roadways. This year The City will be installing a new RRFB at 30 Sage Hill Rd🚶‍

To provide people walking with a safe and dedicated space, The City is installing three curb extensions at:
🚶Arbour Lake Rd
🚶Ranchview Dr & Ranch Estates Dr
🚶Ranchlands Blvd & Ranchview Dr

Here are a couple more improvements that will be coming to your neighbourhood to keep your communities safer:

🚧 Accessibility improvements on Symons Valley Park & Evanston Dr

This year, you’ll see some new improvements to traffic signals in your community:

Calgary Mobility is looking forward to working with Calgarians to keep everyone informed and aware of the projects in their area. Last year Mobility had identified 85 items to complete within their 2023 program and were able to complete 74 of these (87%) within the calendar year. Some projects were delayed because a major contractor unexpectedly withdrew their services mid-year in our city, so we thank you for your patience while City Services get back on track to complete everything on their list for 2024. The remaining 13% from 2023 are included in our 2024 program work. Across the City, we delivered on over 90% of our 2023 workplan items.
