About Councillor Jennifer Wyness
Ward 2 Jennifer Wyness
Councillor Jennifer Wyness was elected in October 2021 as Ward 2 Calgary City Councillor.
Jennifer Wyness has an extensive background in public relations and mediation. She has more than a decade of experience working with corporations, non-profits, and government organizations working on outreach programs and conflict mediation. Prior to working in public relations and mediation, Jennifer worked in and managed public recreation facilities for almost 15 years.
Jennifer’s qualifications include a Bachelors of Kinesiology with a minor in Sociology from the University of the Fraser Valley, a Diploma of Public Relations from the University of Victoria, and an Emergency Medical Responder Certificate from the Justice Institute of British Columbia.
Jennifer has worked in roles of advocacy for those suffering from Chronic Pain, and is well versed in the issues of the opioid epidemic and public health policy. She has also spent time working on mediation and conflict management charities.
Jennifer was elected on a policy of building more connected and inclusive communities and a focus on using tax dollars diligently to generate the most value to Calgarians. She looks forward to finding innovative ways to provide high quality services to Calgarians, and doing so with a focus of getting residents the most for their taxes and fees. Jennifer is not afraid to listen to the experts and put aside traditional political rhetoric to take bold stances on social issues to help those in need of support.
Jennifer lives in Citadel, in Ward 2, with her husband, two young children, and adopted dog.
