Commercial, multi-residential and industrial building permits

​​This information is for contractors, developers and business owners planning to build or develop commercial, industrial or multi-residential space (more than 2 units)​.

  • New buildings and additions

    Including mezzanines and temporary structures such as office trailers, portable classrooms, storage sheds, and sea cans​

  • Changes to existing buildings

    Interior and exterior renovations, structural changes, interior demolition, leasehold improvements, parkade repairs, racking, and alterations to fire alarms and sprinklers

  • Demolition

    Demolition of an existing building, a portion of an existing building, or moving an entire building; not including interior demolition

  • Special events​

    Tents and pop-up structures for events including Stampede functions and festivals

  • Condominium​

    Existing buildings or buildings that are under construction, when applying for separately titled dwelling units, commercial units or parking stalls
