Prairie Winds Park has soccer fields, tennis courts and baseball diamonds. City athletic parks are available to book for football, baseball, softball, soccer, field hockey, field lacrosse, track, ultimate Frisbee, sports tournaments and special events.

Wading pool and spray park
Prairie Winds Park offers both a Wading pool and Spray park at the North end. Access these amenities by parking just off of Westwinds Crescent N.E. Wading pools and outdoor pools are typically open from mid-June until fall (weather dependent). Aquatic wheelchairs are now available at some spray parks.

Lookout and Seating area
Near the centre of Prairie Winds Park is a hill that has a seating area at the top referred to as the lookout with a Seed Pod in the centre. One side of the hill is also designated for tobogganing in the winter.
