Golfer safety and etiquette
Be safe, be aware
- Maintenance staff and equipment have the right of way at all times.
- Do not hit the green if the flagstick is removed. This means a mower is working. Wait until they return the flagstick and clear the area.
- Keep your gear off delicate areas. Bags, pull carts, and power carts must stay off the tee boxes, out of sand traps, and at least 30 feet away from the greens.
- Ask a Golf Ambassador. They’re here to help with questions about etiquette and safety.
Golf etiquette basics
Here are simple ways to be courteous on the course:
- Stay quiet during someone’s swing.
- Don’t walk across another golfer’s putting line (the path from their ball to the hole).
- Wait until the group ahead has finished before taking your shot.
- If you're playing slower than the group behind you, let them go ahead at the next hole.
- Keep your cool—avoid yelling or throwing clubs.
- Always give space and priority to maintenance staff.
