Self-guided Municipal Complex tours

Self-guided tour program

School groups and members of the public are welcome to visit The City of Calgary’s Municipal Complex to conduct a self-guided tour. The support of the self-guided tour resources and Municipal Complex map will enhance a visit and provide information on:

  • Historical moments in Calgary’s history.
  • Important Indigenous and public art on display.
  • Where and how decisions are made for our city.
  • Ward boundaries and Members of Council.
  • Roles and responsibilities of governments in Canada.

School groups

School group tours are self-guided but City-supported.  This means schools are asked to book a date and time for their visit so that a member of the Civic Engagement and Protocol team is aware of the group’s arrival and the topic the school is hoping to learn more about. This helps to ensure teachers and students have the information and advice they need for a great experience at the Municipal Complex.

Capacity

We recommend a maximum of 60 visitors or less at a time to reduce crowding as you conduct your tour and look at the exhibits.

Booking

From September to June, the Tuesday and Wednesday time slots of 9:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. are available for booking.
