Give an hour for Earth
Earth Hour is a global movement that uses one symbolic hour to spark everyday climate action. Join The City of Calgary and community partners at Central Library for a free family event that brings together music, performances, hands-on activities and practical tips for reducing energy use.

What’s on:
- Live music and Indigenous performances
- Repair Exchange (bring small items to fix)
- Youth activities and interactive exhibits (pedal-power demos, energy games)
- Climate action resources and community partner booths
The City’s participation
To mark Earth Hour, The City will turn off non-essential and decorative lighting at participating municipal facilities from 8:30–9:30 p.m. Locations include: Ad Valorem Place; all fire stations; Calgary Public Building; Dartmouth Place; Inglewood Bird Sanctuary Nature Centre; Manchester Centre Building E; Ralph Klein Park Environmental Education Centre; Calgary Municipal Building (Historic City Hall, Administration Building, Municipal Building); and the Water Centre.

Community toolkit
Arusha Climate has prepared a Community Association Climate Action Toolkit to help groups continue the momentum after Earth Hour. Use it to plan local activities and keep neighbours engaged.
