Generating electricity and cost savings with solar energy at Southland Leisure Centre.
In October 2015, The City completed a 153 kW solar photovoltaic (PV) system at Southland Leisure Centre. The panels cover 1,740 m² which is just larger than a typical ice rink. It is designed to produce more than 176,000 kWh of renewable energy annually. That’s enough electricity for 24 average Calgary homes.
