Construction for the Green Line LRT falls into two categories:

Early works construction

Early works projects make way for the Green Line by relocating utilities, preparing sites for main construction, demolishing buildings and more.

Since 2017, Green Line has been doing projects in the southeast, Downtown and Beltline. Over $400M of early works construction is already completed or underway.

Main construction

Main construction includes building tracks, stations, bridges, elevated guideways and the LRT signals system.

Main construction of the SE Segment, from Shepard to Event Centre/Grand Central Station, will begin in summer 2025.
