78 Avenue LRT Bridge
The 78 Avenue LRT bridge will run parallel to the Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) railway line. Expanding on the 78 Avenue Grade Separation and Ogden Pedestrian Tunnel project completed in 2025, the bridge will carry Green Line trains over 78 Avenue SE, which connects to Ogden Dale Road SE through the new roundabout built on the east side of the railway line.
Scope of work
Work includes preparing the site, implementing erosion and sediment control measures, building the bridge foundations and abutments, and constructing the bridge structure, which includes pre-cast concrete girders and a concrete bridge deck.

September 2026 update
Construction of the 78 Avenue LRT Bridge has continued to advance, with crews recently completing the bridge deck pour, one of the final major structural stages of the project.
Earlier this summer, crews completed the bridge's retaining walls and abutments, creating the foundation structures that support the crossing and connect it to the surrounding roadway. The project then reached another key stage with the installation of seven precast concrete girders, each weighing approximately 32,000 kilograms. These massive beams span 78 Avenue SE and form the backbone of the bridge.
With the girders in place and the concrete deck now poured, the bridge has taken on its final structural form and is becoming an increasingly visible feature in the corridor. Work will now focus on completing the remaining bridge elements as construction continues toward completion of the future Green Line LRT crossing.
