78 Ave LRT Bridge
The 78 Avenue LRT bridge will run parallel along the west side of the Canadian Pacific Kansas City railway line. Expanding on the recently completed 78 Avenue Project, the bridge will be built beside the new underpass that connects 78 Avenue to Ogden Dale Road on the east side of the railway line.
Scope of work
The scope of work for this project will include grading of the site, erosion and sediment control, drilling of concrete piles to build the foundation for the bridge abutments, and bridge construction, which will consist of steel girders and a concrete bridge deck.

May 2026 Update
Work on the 78 Avenue LRT bridge continues to move forward, with several key milestones reached. Girder fabrication is now complete, marking an important step toward assembling the bridge structure. At the same time, fabrication of the mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) panels is ongoing, which will support the bridge approaches. In the field, crews are advancing shoring piles for a temporary retaining wall, helping to create safe working conditions as construction progresses.
Foundation work is also well underway, with pile installation continuing and the north abutment nearing completion. Because construction is taking place directly beside an active Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) railway line, baseline track monitoring, along with noise and vibration surveys, were completed in April. This monitoring establishes reference conditions and helps the project team carefully manage construction activities to protect railway operations, maintain safety, and minimize impacts as work continues.
