78 Ave LRT Bridge
The 78 Avenue LRT bridge will run parallel to the Canadian Pacific Kansas City railway line. Expanding on the 78 Avenue Project completed in 2025, the bridge will carry Green Line trains over 78 Avenue S.E., which connects to Ogden Dale Road S.E. through the new roundabout built on the east side of the railway line.
Scope of work
Work includes preparing the site, implementing erosion and sediment control measures, building the bridge foundations and abutments, and constructing the bridge structure, which includes pre-cast concrete girders and a concrete bridge deck.

July 2026 Update
Construction of the 78 Avenue LRT bridge continued to make progress throughout July, bringing the project closer to the next major phase of work.
Crews are nearing completion of the bridge's retaining wall structures at both ends of the future bridge. Once this work is finished, crews will move on to preparing and reinforcing the bridge abutments, which support the bridge and connect it to the surrounding roadway.
Looking ahead, one of the project's most significant milestones is scheduled for next month when the bridge girders will be installed. These large concrete beams will form the main structure of the bridge span over 78 Avenue S.E.
