North Central Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) improvements
Upgraded Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) station at Beddington Towne Centre - February 2025.
While planning continues to bring future Green Line LRT service to the north, immediate improvements to the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor on Centre Street are underway. This work is partially funded by Green Line and is part of the progression towards LRT service in north central Calgary.
Construction will take place at various points on Centre Street from Country Hills Boulevard to 28 Avenue North. As a start, it will include the upgrade of existing Route 301 BRT stops to MAX standards—including heated shelters, larger platforms and improved lighting, among other upgrades.
Work began in late April 2024 and the upgraded stations were operational by January 2025 between 28 Avenue N and Beddington Blvd. Construction of new BRT stations at Country Hills Blvd and 96 Avenue N will begin in Spring 2025.
