LRV Wheel Truing Machine, In-Floor Single Axle and Associated Equipment for MSF

Scope of Work

The supply of a wheel truing machine system that is specifically designed and constructed to service light rail vehicle (LRV) type train cars that have top mounted electrical catenary systems, to be installed for operation in the Maintenance and Storage Facility (MSF).  The wheel truing machine includes but is not limited to the following general characteristics:

• A Computer Numerical Control (CNC) controlled, in-floor wheel lathe designed to reprofile LRV wheels without removing axles or trucks.
• Capable of machining solid steel, aluminum hub, and resilient wheels with automatic geometry measurement and profile selection.
• Includes swarf disposal system, smoke extraction unit, and integrated safety interlocks with the Overhead Contact System (OCS).

The scope of the supply includes but is not limited to:

• providing design support upon contract award and
• providing installation and commissioning services at a later stage in co-ordination with the MSF Contractor and in alignment with the MSF construction schedule.
