Prime Minister Justin Trudeau joins Mayor Naheed Nenshi to reaffirm federal support for the Green Line LRT project.

On July 7, 2021, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau joined Mayor Naheed Nenshi and members of Calgary City Council to reaffirm their support of the Green Line LRT project and confirm that they received the federal funding business case from the Government of Alberta in June.

The Government of Alberta also released confirmation of their approval of the federal funding business case. This news is a significant and long-awaited milestone.

With the redefined procurement strategy, alignment of our funding partners and leadership from the Board, Green Line is confidently moving forward. We appreciate the continued support of all project stakeholders and the 90 per cent of Calgarians who rate Green Line as important to Calgary’s future in 10 years and beyond.

We look forward to being able to share additional details on the redefined procurement strategy and project timelines in the coming months.
