What to know
- Annual property assessment notices are mailed in January.
- The Customer Review Period lasts 67 days after your assessment notice is mailed. This is your opportunity to check the accuracy of your property assessment and learn how it was determined. This review process applies to supplementary assessment notices as well. Check your notice for your Customer Review Period dates, as they can vary.
2026 Annual review period
January 14, 2026 – Annual notices of assessment mailed.
March 23, 2026 – Last day to contact Assessment and file formal complaints to the Assessment Review Board.
How to review your property assessment
Check your property details
Review your assessment notice to make sure the information we have is up-to-date.
- Name or address changes must be made through the Land Titles Office.
- Change school support shown on your notice.
- You can view specific information about your property on your Property Details report.
- For clarification on your property classification (residential, non-residential, etc.), contact 311.
Compare your assessment
Your assessment reflects your property’s market value as of July 1 of the previous year (not current market conditions).

If you’ve reviewed and compared your assessment and still have questions or concerns, contact us to discuss. Some inquiries may be able to be directly addressed by calling 311, more in-depth inquiries may be referred to an assessor who’ll contact you.

If an adjustment is needed, our team will correct your assessment without the need for you to file a complaint with the Assessment Review Board.
Assessment complaints
If you can't resolve your issue with The City, you may file a formal complaint with the independent Assessment Review Board.
Formal assessment complaints must be submitted within the 67-day review period for changes to be considered.
