Learning fibre arts will help you appreciate the fine details of different types of fibre materials.
Fibre arts lets you explore new ways to express yourself visually through mindful age-old craft processes and techniques.
Whether you create pieces from your imagination or from real-life inspiration, it can make you feel more relaxed and improve your mental well-being.
Winter registration dates

Types of fibre arts classes
You can register online, in person at our Recreation facilities, or by calling

Kids will design and create two- and three-dimensional artworks using a variety of fibre mediums. All supplies are provided.
Age: 9 - 12 years
Prerequisite: None

Working with fibre mediums, learn traditional techniques to inspire your textile practice. All supplies are provided.
Age: 18+
Prerequisite: None

You will be introduced to different fibre and weaving techniques to create your own hand-woven piece. All supplies are provided.
Age: 18+

About our art instructors
Our instructors are practicing artists that have formal art training and teaching experience. They offer their expertise in a variety of disciplines and enjoy working with people of all ages and abilities.
Our instructors ensure that classes are always fresh and challenging for new and returning participants. They adapt to students' needs and encourage them to try new ideas and methods.
What are classes like?
You will learn to work with mediums such as dyeing, felting, weaving and printing. Our studio is equipped with tables, fibre arts tools and all the materials you need to create your art. We have studio storage for artworks in progress.
Classes usually begin with a topic discussion and technique demonstrations. Much of the class time will be practicing skills and applying what’s been learned. Class length is determined by age group:
- All adult classes are two and a half-hour long
- Kids and teens classes are 90 minutes long
Come prepared
- Clothing that you can get messy
- Water bottle
Fibre arts tools and supplies are included.
