Green Line Board (2021-2024)

Calgary City Council established an arms-length Board of Directors to govern and oversee the Green Line project in January 2021. The Board had a mandate to deliver Phase 1 of the Green Line LRT in alignment with Council direction and within the committed funds.

Responsibility of the Green Line LRT Program was transferred to the City of Calgary in October 2024, and the Board was dissolved.

The Board worked on behalf of the funding partners and Calgarians to  balance the costs and risk with the long-term city-shaping benefits. They relied on the experience and expertise of the Green Line leadership team to make recommendations and invest in ongoing independent, external due diligence to identify, evaluate and validate information and assumptions.
